·         Feeling safe from the coronavirus, for themselves and their families.

·         No commute, saving cost and time

·         Improved productivity while working from home

·         Less stress, more comfort and convenience

SHARE Voices:

“It actually made me realize that working from home is good for your mental health and stress level. To be able to work and also be there for family members, cooking meals in a timely manner and actually enjoying a much calmer atmosphere is extremely good.”

“Away from feeling like I can’t move around and stretch without a manager asking what I’m doing.”

“I hope this continues in the future. When the second surge hits, I’ll be perfectly content staying home where myself and my family are safe.”

When asked what was difficult about working from home, comments from SHARE members centered most often on:

·         Technology issues, not having the usual equipment to do the work

·         Social isolation from co-workers

·         Communication with supervisors

·         Distractions at home

SHARE Voices:

“Not seeing my co-workers – I really missed them. They are an important part of my day.”

“I’m home alone with my baby. No day care, and we’re still social distancing for his safety so I have no one to help me care for him while I try to work.”

“Lack of communication from supervisors, managers and office senior leadership. The hospital senior leadership did an outstanding job. I was surprised our managers did not take their lead.”

“Utilizing personal resources for work-related activities such as use personal cell/phone and increased home internet bandwidth, which increased personal cost.”
